Stakeholder Engagement Manager

We are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to support the work of the NST and assist the Communications Manager in delivering key safeguarding initiatives and engagement strategies. You will play a vital role in planning and implementing future campaigns, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective communication across the Church.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audience segmentation and stakeholder mapping to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Develop and deliver consistent engagement approaches across NST stakeholder groups.
  • Review and analyse communication channels and create a unified engagement strategy.
  • Plan and deliver internal and external campaigns, including those under high scrutiny.
  • Evaluate engagement activities and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Lead consultations with diocesan and cathedral safeguarding officers.
  • Coordinate content creation aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Manage sensitive topics with professionalism under pressure and scrutiny.
  • Act as the Church-wide interface for NST communications and engagement.

Key role requirements

  • A basic DBS check will be required as part of our pre-employment checks.
  • 12 months fixed-term contract.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with the expectation from the primary office location, 2-3 days per week.
Please note: This role is an office role, but also suitable for candidates who choose to work from home. If you opt to be a homeworker, you are responsible for your own travel expenses to your primary/base location, as the role requires you to attend infrequent face-to-face meetings 1-2 days per month.

You will need to be/have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in stakeholder engagement with a proven track record of delivering engagement plans.
  • Experience in transformation projects within dynamic, high-profile organisations.
  • Strong understanding of change management frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and adapt communication style to diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in managing sensitive issues under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and issues (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of the structure, mission and ministry of the Church of England (Desirable).

Your Salary 
  • A salary of £59,248 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
