Head of Net Zero Carbon Fundraising​

We're looking for a Head of Net Zero Carbon Fundraising to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract 

 

About the Department/Role

The Net Zero Carbon programme has been established to help the Church of England to deliver its commitment to reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030. It aims to equip, resource and support all parts of the Church to reduce carbon emissions from the energy used in its buildings, schools and through work-related transport by 2030.  

 

All parts of the Church will need to raise funds to implement this Net Zero plan. The Giving Directorate is working alongside the core Programme Team to leading on the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments to secure the funds needed and distribute grant funding to leverage further fundraising.  


What you'll be doing
As Head of NZC Fundraising, you’ll be the strategic lead for the Fundraising Workstream within the Net Zero Carbon Programme by overseeing the delivery of the fundraising strategy: raising funds and securing strategic partnerships; lobbying national and regional government; and leading others to fundraise collaboratively at regional, diocesan and local levels. You’ll distribute substantial grant funding to parishes and dioceses through Give To Go Green to leverage community funding at a local level. You’ll lead a team of national fundraisers and provide matrix management to a network of regional NZC fundraisers across the country. 

Key role requirements:
  • This is a 12-month fixed term contract

  • You will be expected to travel to Church House, Westminster 1-2 times a month  

  • You will need a Professional Qualification or membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising as well as Substantial fundraising experience across philanthropy, grants and community fundraising

What we offer
Your Salary 
  • A salary of £59,248 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
