Post Introduction

About the Centre for Cultural Witness (CCW)
The Centre for Cultural Witness exists to inspire a renewal in the public understanding of Christian faith
Through harnessing the wisdom of theologians and other Christian communicators, we aim to share a thoughtful and imaginative Christian voice through local and mainstream communication channels. Whether on social media, in newspapers, the radio or in the arts, we long to see a world where Christian perspectives are an integral part of our public discourse.

At the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the CCW is based at Lambeth Palace Library yet works across all major Christian denominations and is an independent charity.

We are at an exciting stage of our journey, having built the foundations of the Centre, launched our new opinion website (Seen & Unseen) with over 600 articles published so far, podcasts growing in popularity with renowned guests, and a new Emerging Leaders Programme which is already making a significant impact.

Looking ahead, we are finalising our strategy for the next 3-5 years which will see us expand our reach and cut through of Christian perspectives into culture. A key part of our strategy is to grow and diversify our funding to enable this to happen.

Purpose of the role
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising and Engagement Manager to join the Centre’s dynamic team at this exciting time. Working closely with the Director and Executive Manager, you will be instrumental in growing the CCW’s supporter base while championing our aim to see the beauty and richness of the Christian gospel known and understood more in public life. You play a pivotal role in cultivating strategic partnerships, stewarding generosity and fostering long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities
You would be responsible for developing and delivering an outstanding cultivation, engagement and stewardship programme to attract, engage, recognise, thank and demonstrate impact to donors and drive income. Specific responsibilities would include:

  • Overseeing and implementing all stages of the donor cultivation journey, including arranging and attending meetings alongside the Director, making follow-up calls, crafting fundraising communications and writing tailored proposals.
  • Planning and executing fundraising events hosted at Lambeth Palace Library, ensuring maximum donor engagement with CCW’s mission, strategy and activity.
  • Responsible for implementing all stages of a donor’s stewardship journey, including crafting and distributing progress reports, and other engagement communications and arranging meetings between you and the Director.
  • Working alongside the Executive Manager, you would understand the Centre’s fundraising needs and projects and translate these into tailored communications and proposals.
  • Efficiently manage donor relationships using a CRM system, such as Salesforce, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of interactions and contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director to conduct thorough prospect research, identifying prospective donors and stakeholders who share a passion for CCW's mission and values.
  • Represent CCW at networking events, conferences, and community gatherings to promote awareness of the organisation and foster relationships with potential donors and partners.
