Driver to the Bishop of Lincoln

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this role is to drive the Bishop on an occasional basis to and from services, meetings, events and train stations within the Diocese, and occasionally beyond, and to liaise with staff in The Bishops’ Office to make all arrangements for driving duties.
Main Duties and responsibilities
- To be willing to drive during weekdays, evenings, and at weekends, when available to do so.
- To plan timings and routes as appropriate.
- To assist with the servicing, repair and basic maintenance of the Bishop’s official car.
- To assist with ensuring the car is filled with fuel, oil, water etc at all times.

Essential
Qualifications:
- A clean driving licence and evidence of business use insurance
Skills/Aptitudes:
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Ability to use own initiative when appropriate, plan, deliver.
- Ability to work well within a small team.
- Ability to maintain confidences and be courteous, friendly and discreet at all times.
- A flexible approach to working hours.
- Smart personal appearance with a consciousness of publicly representing the Bishop and his staff.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Knowledge and proven experience of basic car servicing and maintenance.
- Competent handling and maintenance of tools and equipment used for car and house maintenance.
- The ability to drive a variety of models of car – automatic and manual.
- A good knowledge of the geographical area covered by the diocese.
- The ability to read road maps competently.
- Competent manual handling skills (relating to lifting).
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Advanced driving qualification.
Skills/Aptitudes:
- Sympathy towards the Christian faith and an interest in the Church of England.
- Experience of working with the general public and providing personal support for those with senior management/leadership responsibilities
Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience of general maintenance work.

- A salary of £15.00 per hour

This role will be offered on a casual basis and hours of work will be flexible.
